Flashy cars
In 1924, Puyi bought two Buicks, the first cars owned by an emperor and the first to come into the Forbidden City. Known for elegant design, well-crafted interior, and for driving the famous emperor from Tianjin to Changchun, the Buick witnessed the vicissitudes of the China’s last emperor.
Political participation
Puyi was released from the reeducation camp in 1959 and worked at the Beijing Botanical Gardens. He was subsequently employed as an editor for the literary department of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and became a member of the Conference in 1964.
Marriage certificate
Puyi married Li Shuxian, a hospital nurse, on April 30, 1962, in a ceremony held at the Banquet Hall of the Consultative Conference.
