Gold and silver objects

The gold crown unearthed in the Ming Emperor Wanli's tomb in Beijing's Changping district is rarely seen due to its strict preservation condition. But, it is on display at the ongoing exhibition of Beijing’s Cultural Treasures. In addition, many more rare items are on display here including gold and silver objects from the tomb of the Princess of Chen State in Liao Dynasty (916-1125) and those from the Ming and Qing imperial courts.

Silver hat gilded with gold

Made in: the Liao Dynasty (916-1125)

Specifications: 30.4 centimeters in height, weighs 830 grams

Excavation: unearthed at the tomb of Princess of Chen State in Liao Dynasty, located in Naimen Banner, Zhelimu League, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region
