A Feast of Art from Wuhan Museum

 

With 108 pieces of rare and exquisite artwork sparkling on show, the Shenzhen Museum was thronged with people who made their way to see “Treasures from the City of Riverside -- Wuhan Museum Cultural Relics Exhibition”, which is held from August 12 to November 9 2008.

A great amount of cultural classics, including time-honored bronze ware, chinaware, jade, calligraphy and painting are showcased in the exhibition. All the items on display are national cultural relics and eleven pieces of them are listed as Grade One cultural relics of the state.

 

Grimacing Money

Grimacing Money, or Yibi (ant nose) Money, which is in the form of an ant nose and resembles a vivid grimace, is the currency used by Chu state 2400 years ago in China. The money is pretty rare today and plays a vital role in researching the history of the Chinese currency.

 

Gilded Copper Buddha Statue

As a typical symbol of Tibetan Buddhism in the Ming Dynasty (1368 – 1644), the Gilded Copper Buddha Statue is famous for its exquisite design, specific year of completion and Buddhist theme, and is listed as Grade One cultural relic of the state.
