An ancient arabic country Bahrain brought its 5,000-year culture to China, starting out its new pictorial journey.
On October 21, the exhibition of the Kingdom of Bahrain's 5,000 years of pictorial journey opened in Beijing, focusing on its achievements in such fields as economy, society, education, public health and women's development.
Bahrain ambassador Bibi Al-Alawi said at the opening ceremony, people in the country would like to share with the world their experience of sustainable development, especially on housing, education and women's development and show efforts they have made for those as well.
As one of the smallest countries worldwide, the kingdom is composed of some 40 islands, most of which too small for people to live. With an area of 720 square kilometers and a population of more than 1 million, it also deserves one of the most densely populated countries in the world.
Historically, the region was the cradle of western civilization and was later dubbed "the land of immortality" since local inhabitants found freshwater on the islands, within the salty seas surrounding it.
The exhibition has completed a circuit in many international cities, like London, Paris, Washington and Tokyo.
