An Olympic-themed dress, designed by Italian designers, upstaged others during China's International Fashion Week that finished March 31, 2008.

The scarlet strapless gown features the logo of the Beijing Olympic Games and Chinese characters saying "Success for the Beijing Olympics."

A total of 30 young designers from 16 countries advanced to the final round of the 16th Hampel Award China International Young Designer Contest. The finalists have diverse cultural backgrounds, but their inspiration is the same - Chinese calligraphy. More than 500 models presented nearly 40 collections of almost 30 fashion brands.
