An international conference on the intercultural communication between China and world opened on Jun 12, 2009, Beijing.

With the theme of "Intercultural Communication between China and the World: Interpersonal, Organizational and Mediated Perspectives," the 8th China Association for Intercultural Communication (CAFIC) Intercultural Conference aims to enhance the mutual understanding between China and the world as well as the teaching and studying of the subject.

During the three days of the conference, more than 500 domestic and overseas renowned scholars in the field will make speeches on the theories and practice of intercultural communication to share their newest thoughts.

Sun Youzhong, president of the organizing committee of the conference and vice president of CAFIC, said "With the presence of all these scholars, this conference is not only being more international, but also we gained enough official and administrative support to promote the teaching and study of intercultural communication in China."
