Yunnan Suihuashanbelongs to theTaxaceaeFamily, with the Latin name ofAmentotaxus yunnanensis. In China it's mainly distributed in Yunnan and Guizhou provinces, southwest of China.
Yunnan Suihuashanis a sort of small evergreen arbor that can attain the height of 5 to 12 meters. It grows in mixed forests of evergreen and deciduous broad leaf trees on limestone mountainous region about 1,000 meters above sea level, preferring a dank environment. Yunnan Suihuashanbears strip-shaped or lance-shaped leaves with straight apex. The stomatic band on back of a leaf, light brown or light yellowish white, is 2 to 3 times wider than the green edge. It bears opposite male cones in spiciform shape. The 4th, 5th and 6th spikes cluster on top of the branch. The oval seeds are coated by mauve aril. It blossoms in April annually and the seeds ripen from April to May in the ensuing year.
