This tomb is located in Datong, Shanxi Province. Twelve tombs of the Northern Wei Dynasty and 200 pieces of cultural relics have been unearthed. The M7 in the north of the tomb group is a tomb, with well-preserved exquisite mural paintings and Chinese characters. According to those characters it is the tomb of General Pingxi's mother who died in the first year Taiyan (435 AD).
Mural paintings are on the chamber walls, ceilings, and sides of the corridors inside the toms, and add up to 24 square meters. The exquisite writing and the graceful decoration were unique among the tombs of contemporaneous Northern Wei dynasty. The mural paintings are of great academic and artistic significance, providing precious visual data for the research of ethnic customs, funeral traditions and costumes and decorations.
