About Caiwu

Cai Wu, born in 1949 in Gansu Province, Wudu County.

He graduated in international politics from the elite Peking University and has a doctorate in law.

He began his career as a lecturer at his alma mater before being transferred to the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Youth League in July 1983.

In July 1997, Cai was appointed vice-minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which is in charge of exchanges with parties in other countries.

In August 2005, Cai became minister of the Information Office of the State Council.

In March 2008,Cai was appointed  minister of Culture.

 

About Yu Youjun

Former Shanxi Governor Yu Youjun was appointed Chinese vice minister of culture in September, 2007. Yu also takes the post of the Communist Party of China (CPC) chief in the ministry.

Born in 1953, Yu had served as head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, Shenzhen mayor, deputy Hunan governor and Shanxi governor. Yu is among a few ranking officials who hold doctoral degrees.

 

 

About Meng Xiaosi

Meng Xiaosi, female, born on May 5, 1956 in Shanghai, native of Huaiyin, Jiangsu Province

Started to work in Beijing Music Publishing House in July 1975

Studied in the History Department in the Second Branch School of Renmin University of China from 1979 to 1982

Served successively as the secretary of the Committee of Communist Youth League of China in the Ministry of Culture, vice director-general of the Social Culture Department under the Ministry of Culture, vice director and director of the Department of Cultural Market Administration under the Ministry of Culture from 1983 and 1993Vice mayoress of Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province from 1994 to 1995

Vice minister of the Ministry of Culture since 1997

Vice secretary of the Communist Party of China Committee Directly under the Ministry of Culture since February 2003

 

About Chen Xiaoguang

Chen Xiaoguang, male, born in 1948, native of Jingxian County in Hebei Province

Started to work in August 1964

Joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in February 1986, Graduated from university

Served successively as the vice chief editor and chief editor of the periodical "Cikan" of China Musicians Association, vice chief editor of China Art News, secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Committee of China Musicians Association, secretary of the CPC Committee of Federation of Literary and Art Circles, vice president of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, member of the 8th and 9th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference

 

About Zhou Heping

Zhou Heping, male, born in 1949, native of Shahe City, Hebei Province

Started to work in August 1968

Joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in November1978

Served successively as vice secretary of the CPC Committee of Shahe County, vice secretary of the CPC Committee and secretary of Policy and Law Commission of Renxian County in Hebei Province, vice secretary of the CPC Committee of Yunxian County in Hubei Province, director of the Economic and Technology Committee of the Administrative Office of Yunyang District in Hubei Province, section chief of the Examination Department of the Ministry of Personnel, vice curator of the National Library of China, and Party committee secretary and vice curator of the National Library of China

 

About Zhao Weisui

Zhao Weisui, male, of Han nationality, born in November 1948, native of Suizhong, Liaoning Province

Joined the Communist Part of China (CPC) in March 1982,

Graduated successively from Shaanxi Normal University and Renmin University of China as a Bachelor of EconomicsWorked in Shaanxi Automobile Standard Component Company and Beijing Building Materials Company from 1972 to 1984Served as vice section chief and section chief in National Statistics Bureau from 1984 to 1988

Served as section chief, vice director, director of the Second Secretary Bureau of the General Office under the State Council from 1988 to 1998Served as director and secretary-general in the Liaison Office in Hong Kong of the Central People's Government from 1998 to 2001Served as vice minister of the Ministry of Culture, and member of the Party Committee directly under the ministry since September 2001
