The Chinese Baseball Association was under the Chinese Baseball and Softball Association. It became an independent organization in 1986. Its headquarters is in Beijing. The Chinese Baseball Association is a national non-governmental organization. It is a member of the All-China Sports Federation and the International Baseball Federation.
The objectives of the Association are to increase public participation and interests in baseball, to organization public activities, to host and organize national and international competitions.
Major tasks of the Association include:
* to provide guidance on the training of national and local baseball teams;
* to formulate rules on coaches and athletes;
* to organize training projects of coaches, judges, and athletes;
* to set up national standards on evaluation of athletes, coaches, and judges;
* to select and recommend players and coaches of the national baseball team;
* to organize the national team to participate in international competitions;
* to assist research on baseball;
* and to conduct international exchanges and cooperation.
Under the Chinese Baseball Association, there are the Standing Committee, the National Committee, the Secretariat, the Coaches Committee, the Judges Committee, the Research and Development Committee, the Publicity Committee and so on.
