The Chinese Dragon Boat Association, a national non-governmental organization based in Beijing, was established in Yichang, Central China's Hubei Province, in June 1985. It is a member of the All-China Sports Federation and International Dragon Boat Federation.
Tasks of the association are:
* to increase popularity of dragon boat sport activities;
* to approve competition regulation and judging rules;
* to organize national competitions and training for athletes, judges and coaches;
* to approve national judges;
* to organize international competitions;
* to assist Chinese teams' participation in international games.
Under the Association there are the Representatives' Congress of Chinese Dragon Boat Association, the Standing Committee, the Equipment Committee, the Regulations Committee, the Judges Committee, the Technical Committee and the Document Committee.
