Chinese Canoeing Association

 

The Chinese Canoeing Association, a national non-governmental organization based in Beijing, was originally affiliated to the Chinese Boating Sports Association. In 1981, it became an independent organization. It is a member of the All-China Sports Federation. In 1974, the International Canoeing Association formally accepted China as its member.

Tasks of the association are:

* to increase public participation and interests in canoeing;

* to organize international and national games;

* to formulate management rules on athletes and coaches, and work out regulation on canoeing games;

* to organize training programs of athletes, coaches and judges;

* to select and recommend athletes and coaches for national teams;

* to organize the training of national teams and assist their participation in international games;

* to conduct research and exchanges programs.

There are the National Committee, the Standing Committee, the Secretariat, the Technical Committee, the Competition Committee, the Research Committee, the Torrent Committee, the Equipment Committee and the International Liaison Committee under the Association.
