Just in that year, she won the title in the World Cup. Three years later, she collected three golds and one silver in the 11thAsian Games held in Beijing.

Li made her Olympics debut in Barcelona in 1992 and won the silver medal in the women's sports pistol.

Li, notably quick-minded and eager to learn, consolidated her position in women's shooting after claiming the pistol gold for China in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

After this event, she retired for several years. But the love for shooting made her pick up the pistols again in 1999 and was selected into the national team. But owe to several years' of lack of practice, she failed to make herself into China's team for the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
