Lou Yun

 

Lou Yun, one ofChina's best gymnasts, was born inHangzhou, the capital city ofEast China'sZhejiangProvinceonJune 23, 1964. He collected 2 golds, 2 silvers and 1 bronze in the Olympics and 4 golds, 3 silvers and 1 bronze in the World Championships.

Lou began to attend regular gymnastic training when he was eight years old and entered the provincial team that year. Five years later, he became a member of the national team.

In 1981, Lou made himself known to the world after grasping vault and floor exercise in the World Gymnastics Invitational held inJapanand the World Gymnastics Championships.

In 1983, he claimed men's team and parallel bars titles in the 22ndWorld Gymnastics Championships. The following year, he won the gold in men's vault at the 23rdOlympics. He also finished 2ndin men's team and 2nd in floor exercise.

In 1987, he was champion of floor exercise and vault in the 24thWorld Gymnastics Championships. At the 1988 Olympics, he defended his title in vault.

In 1990, the gymnast decided to retire and then he started to focus his energies on business and migrated to theUSin 1995. Currently, he is the General Manager of the Beijing Rongfeng 2008 Co., Ltd.
