Yang Ling

 

Yang Ling was born in Beijing on May 24, 1972 and started to practice shooting when he was 14 years old. Three years later, he entered the Beijing team and in 1993, he became a member of the national team.

He finished third in men's 10m running target, and second in 10m running target men's team in the 1994 World Cup.

He was also a key member of China's champion team in the men's 50m rapid pistol in the 1994 World Championships as well as champion of men's 10m running target in the 1994 National Running Target Championships.

In 1996, Yang established his position in men's after collecting the men's 10m running target title both at the 1996 World Cup held in Milan, Italy and at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

In 1998, he was runner-up in 10m running target men's team in the World Cup in Barcelona, Spain.

In 2000, Yang Lin claimed men's 10m running target titles in the 2000 Asian championships and at the Milan leg of the World Cup series before he collected the gold at the Sydney Olympics.

In 1999, he was voted one of the 50 Best Athletes in the New China for his great contributions to the country.
